INSPECTION CONTROL OF EAC CERTIFICATES
Let’s briefly analyze what inspection control is, how often it is carried out and in what forms.
A few facts about an inspection control:
— it is carried out for serial production certificates with a validity period of more than 1 year
— it is a mandatory procedure and is carried out annually (at least once a year). For example: if a certificate was issued on 01.08.2022, then inspection control must be done no later than 31.08.2023
— it is always carried out by a certification body
— for EAC declarations of conformity inspection control is not required according to the Technical Regulations
There are two forms of conducting an inspection control:
— analysis of a state of production (online audit or visit of an expert to a factory)
— lab testing of product samples
If a certificate holder refuses to carry out inspection control, then the validity of a certificate is canceled by a decision of a certification body. There are some cases when the accreditation of the certification body that issued the certificate is closed, in such case a certificate holder can undergo an inspection control at any accredited certification body of their choice.
Inspection control is a mandatory procedure in accordance with the Technical Regulations. The Federal Accreditation Service (FSA, a supervisory body) strictly monitors this procedure. If information on inspection control is not displayed in the register, the FSA first suspends the validity of the certificate and, after the expiration of the established period, cancels its validity.
Dear manufacturers and suppliers, it is hugely important to take care of the inspection control procedure in advance. If one of your certificates is issued in 2022, you can contact us for a consultation.
